WINTER IN KNOYDART (2010)
The Project
The first of Matilda’s Mountain Bothy Projects was in collaboration with photographer Ben Winston. Matilda walked across Knoydart for five days and nights in the depths of the winter freeze 2009/2010. The Scottish Winter Tour was born out of this trip, where Matilda wrote music in response to her many arduous and cold days out in the mountains and staying in bothies. Matilda and her regular group of musicians performed the music in the Winter of 2010 at Mull Theatre on the Isle of Mull and in Cove Park.
