A Weekend of Yoga with Matilda Brown

An Autumn weekend of Yoga based in the Lowther Hills

28th - 30th October

Leadhills Village, part of the Southern Upland Way, Scotland

Do you feel like you want to slow down your pace after a busy summer and cosy up for the Autumn months? I'm so delighted to offer a special Autumn yoga weekend nestled in the beautiful Lowther Hills, away from it all. Here you will be able to relax and be yourself. It's a unique place, high up in the velvet blanket hills of the Southern Uplands. We offer a number of different yoga classes that will help you to relax and restore as well as bring vitality to your body - a warm soft glow - ready for the winter months.

To book, please contact Matilda via the form below. Each booking is tailored to what you want to get from the weekend and made to be a bespoke experience for you, so please do contact Matilda.

Your Yoga Instructor for the weekend, Matilda

Matilda, who is delivering the weekend, is a qualified Ashtanga vinyasa yoga teacher and has also walked the length of Scotland solo with her dog Jasper!

“I begun teaching yoga in 2018 at Leadhills Village Hall until the lockdown of March 2020. Over that period I co-taught sessions with Pauline Slater, a practitioner of Pilates and Hatha yoga. In 2019, I took courses with my music company, Drake Music Scotland, on breathing techniques for musicians and teachers, which have since been woven into my yoga sessions. Many commented after my classes how the technique - different to what they’d experienced before - had helped them to “cope with stressful everyday tasks” (Liz Tulloch). Each week, my classes were set to carefully curated playlists of ambient recorded music, welcomed by participants as a part of their practice that helped them to relax, focus, and enjoy the class.

My practice is not only to give participants a chance to develop their strength and fitness, but also to give them a stable, non-judgemental platform in which they can make mistakes. Participants have said my classes help them to put a perspective on things in difficult times, giving them a chance to stop, relax, and switch off to worries - a place where they can explore meditation if they want to - or simply a space where they feel safe and comfortable to relax and enjoy a rewarding class.”
